My 2009 campaign for Snohomish County Council was unsuccessful. But it was by no means a failure.
I did not win this campaign for Snohomish County Council. To all of you who gave so much to this, who put your weight, energy and money and best wishes behind me as the candidate, I am so very, very grateful.
I end this campaign with no regrets. We can all hold our heads high knowing that we ran a fabulous campaign, gave it everything we had, and did it with grace. I also am comforted by the many new and beautiful relationships made throughout the course of this. To those of you who have brought so much into my life, thank you.
From here we move forward. I'll be rebuilding my business, and returning energy to my beautiful little family, to whom the deepest of my thanks belong. Make no mistake, however, that the goals I expressed for my community remain. There are things left undone - things I was hoping to accomplish as your county councilwoman. Instead, I will work toward them from other avenues. And perhaps run for the position again in four years.
